All about Bedside Manor

The property is a free-standing cabin set in the large garden of the owners' cottage in the picturesque Highland village of Braemar. Great hillwalking direct from the doorstep, quick and easy access to ski slopes in winter. The village has shops and restaurants.

Guests have access to the whole of the cabin, which is independent. There is full access to the decking and garden furniture and full access to the extensive garden itself.

Checkin is self-checkin.  The owners hope to greet you at a safe distance on arrival and may be in their neighbouring cottage during your stay. They will leave local information for you in the cabin.

There is a large pond (lochan) in the garden, which is partially wild and good for birdspotting! Parents should note that the lochan is not itself fenced and is accessible from the cabin's wrap around decking. However, the whole back garden and lochan are fully fenced off from the drive and the large child-friendly decking beside it. (Parents should note this arrangement and take their own safety precautions to protect their children in the garden)

We are a non-smoking home. Please enjoy yourselves, but be aware that we do have neighbours and this is a peaceful little village. You may bring one dog at an additional charge and two dogs will cost a little more.

Braemar is set in the Cairngorm National Park. It has two historic castles. There are hotels and restaurants in the village, about 150m from the cabin itself. Ballater, 15 minutes away, is a little larger with additional facilities.  Please go to the "Local Area" tab for some more information.

There is a bus stop right in front of the cabin. The bus runs into Ballater and onward to Aberdeen.  The cabin has ample off-road parking. From Aberdeen Airport, follow signs for Braemar.

There are EV chargers available in the village car parks (behind the butcher and opposite Invercauld Hotel)

Living area with: dining seating for 6 at the breakfast bar, TV with smart TV stick, selection of DVDs, large selection of books and maps

Exclusive use of wrap-around decking with: table and seating for 6

All linen and towels are provided

Central heating 

A high chair and cot can be supplied by prior arrangement

There is a little playhouse on the larger decking just adjacent to the cabin
